The Problem

our Land Rover or Jaguar no longer recognizes your key remote button functions and push button start is inoperable. These symptoms can usually be solved by replacing your key fob battery. However, if your key battery is good and you have verified your second key also is non-responsive, your vehicle likely has a faulty KVM module.

The KVM module is one of a select few modules in the vehicle that stores critical immobilizer data and pertinent key information. If this module fails, the vehicle can still be locked/unlocked with the emergency key blade and you can start the engine by holding the key to the inductive coil beneath the steering column and press the push to start button. By holding the key to the coil in the steering column, the vehicle will bypass the faulty KVM module and allow you to start the vehicle using the immobilizer data stored in other modules within the vehicle. The transponder chip inside the key does not require battery power to communicate with the inductive coil in the steering column.

Send us your damaged/faulty KVM RFA module along with a donor KVM module with matching part #. We will clone your original faulty module to the supplied donor unit and ship it back to you ready for install. No additional programing/coding necessary. This is a plug and play service! If you do not already have a donor module and would like to purchase one from us instead, please inquire with your VIN and we will supply one for you.

We also offer KVM/RFA module renew/virginizing service for 2018+ Jaguar/Land Rover vehicles in a separate listing. Please find our KVM renew/virginizing service if you are interested in renewing your original module or a used donor module in order to program new keys. KVM modules in virgin state require initialization and programing including programing of any keys you wish to use with the new module. This service is perfect for locksmiths and repair shops who are looking to program new keys to a vehicle without replacing the KVM/RFA module. Once keys are programed to the 2018+ KVM modules, they are locked and additional keys cannot be added without replacing the module and adding new keys. Module must be programed once installed in the vehicle by a professional using the proper tools.
